Who is James E. Meason ("Jim")

Education: I began my journey by earning a Bachelor's of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, a Master of Art from Georgetown University, and a law degree from American University.

Military Service: I gave 27 years in Naval Intelligence, and held the rank of Commander. I served our country through missions around the world, and in 2012 returned from a one year tour in Afghanistan.

Private Practice: I opened my Rockton office in 1997 after working as a Federal regulatory enforcement attorney in Washington, D.C., and practicing environmental law with a major Chicago-based law firm handling EPA issues nationally. My general practice firm continues to handle environmental cases on both the state and federal levels. Additionally, I offer over two decades of experience in family law, estate planning, business law, real estate, and more.

Family and Community Involvement: I live and own my business in Rockton, Illinois; as well as am raising my children here. I enjoy being actively involved in the community from coaching team sports to being the former President of the Rockton School District 140 Board of Education, on the church counsel, active member of BNI, and recently joined the Chamber of Commerce.

I am a proud husband and father of three kids, plus 2 bonus children. My oldest is a recent Marquette graduate and now a Navy Officer preparing to leave for Japan. My son played football for Hononegah High School and is currently attending college at U of W Osk Kosh in their honors program. My youngest participates in cheer and band. My oldest bonus child recently got married to his long time girlfriend in a small family oriented ceremony, and my youngest bonus child is attending high school, actively involved in school groups and preparing for college.
